# Planning and Zoning Meeting - October 8, 2026

The City of Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met on October 8, 2026. The commission approved the consent agenda, including the September 24 meeting minutes, by motion and vote. Most of the meeting focused on reviewing draft chapters of the city’s comprehensive plan, including transportation, infrastructure, and resiliency. Commissioners and staff discussed edits to the major thoroughfare plan, sidewalk connectivity, road safety, and possible future corridor studies for FM 528 and FM 2351. These were discussion items; no study contract, funding request, or procurement action was approved. The commission also noted that the Friendswood Parkway Corridor Study and Active Transportation Plan had been adopted previously, and that the 2026 wastewater master plan had recently been adopted by City Council while the master drainage plan remains in progress.

The infrastructure discussion referenced the city’s $41 million in 2019 bonds as historical context for drainage initiatives, as well as buyout programs and ongoing transportation and utility planning. No contract awards, vendor selections, bids, or new spending allocations were identified. The only motion concerned approval of the meeting minutes.
