# Grandville Board Meeting - 10.5.2026

Grandville Public Schools Board of Education regular meeting, October 19, 2026: The board received the district’s annual audit presentation. The auditor reported clean, unmodified financial-statement and federal-compliance opinions, with no material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, material noncompliance, or material audit adjustments. The district’s general fund balance was about $6.5 million after a roughly $650,000 decline; the auditor noted that the fund balance is below state and peer averages. The district’s nearly $90 million budget finished about $365,000 from its final budget projection. The federal single-audit focus was the nutrition cluster.

Board members discussed the fund-balance trend, staffing and program costs, and how to assess program effectiveness and return on investment. District staff agreed to assemble comparable information on peer districts’ fund balances, staffing, and program spending for a future meeting. The board also approved the agenda and consent items and appointed a parent representative to the Kent ISD special-education advisory committee. No contracts, purchasing decisions, or other procurement activity were identified.
