# AISD School Board Meeting 10-19-26

At its regular meeting on October 19, 2026, the Argyle ISD Board of Trustees received a construction update on Michael Ball Intermediate School. Construction remained on schedule for substantial completion in June, with steel erection expected to finish in December and the building to be dried in by February. The district also presented, for information only, upcoming purchases over $100,000 for Legacy High School, including weight-room and band percussion equipment, and a staff computer refresh of about 115 computers. The weight-room estimate was being reduced through a revised scope; these purchases were not yet up for approval. Budget Amendment No. 2 was also presented for information and is scheduled to return for action next month. It includes a $45,000 part-time elementary administrator position and about $140,000 in projected additional diesel costs, alongside rollover expenses.

The board unanimously approved Budget Amendment No. 1 and five contingency paraprofessional positions, with three expected to be needed initially. It also unanimously approved the October consent items, including $35,913.15 in donations for athletics, band, and other school activities. The board unanimously approved legislative priorities that highlighted a reported $12.5 million gap between state funding and district expenses in several required areas. Separately, trustees unanimously withdrew the district’s July 21 offer to purchase a 35,040-square-foot portion of property at 305 Harpole Road from US Trinity Holdings LLC. No contract award or bid approval was identified.
