# Des Plaines City Council Meeting 10-19-2026

At the October 19, 2026, Des Plaines City Council meeting, the council approved Resolution R-223-26 authorizing the warrant register for $8,375,084.30. It also unanimously approved Resolution R-219-26, a substantial amendment to the city’s 2025–2029 Community Development Block Grant plan; the mayor emphasized using CDBG funds for home repairs and assistance to low-income residents. No specific contracts or vendors were awarded. The council moved the October 22 budget meeting to 6:00 p.m.

The council approved, as amended, a preliminary planned unit development for NOAA Properties at 414 East Golf Road: a proposed 226-unit mixed-use building with about 5,000 square feet of commercial space and 274 parking stalls. The approval requires changes to the proposed exterior materials, including full brick rather than thin brick and removal of fiber cement board from the ground floor. The developer said it expects to seek TIF assistance and plans to cover required project-related public improvements; IDOT review and approval of the traffic and intersection plan remain outstanding, as does final PUD approval. The council also approved a building-material variation for Car Mix at 1685 East Oakton Street, allowing an already-installed composite wood exterior product subject to revised plans and inspection conditions.
