# Truckee Town Council/TFHS Joint meeting, Oct. 13, 2026

The Truckee Town Council and Tahoe Forest Health System Board held a joint meeting on October 13, 2026, to review the Truckee Navigation Center pilot and consider its second-year funding. Staff reported high bed utilization, service activity, housing transitions, and police and hospital data, alongside continuing concerns from Coldstream neighbors about safety and neighborhood impacts. Both bodies unanimously approved year-two support, conditioned on Nevada County receiving and accepting a CDBG grant: the Town authorized a budget adjustment of up to $235,000, and the hospital board authorized a contract with Nevada County not to exceed $235,000. The funding supports shelter and interim housing for up to 16 people, with a possible seasonal surge model of up to 25 beds. The county is pursuing a $2.1 million CDBG-funded purchase of the building; grant acceptance was not itself before the boards for action.

The bodies also supported developing the surge model with regional partners, refining the good-neighbor policy, and continuing community coordination. The Town directed staff to focus efforts on the center and neighborhood impacts while retaining the collaborative partnership and future-funding work in the existing action plan; future multi-year or step-down funding was discussed but not committed. The hospital board directed staff to bring forward a mid-year budget adjustment aligned with its priorities. No other vendor selection or bid approval was identified.
