# Academics/CSIP Committee October 15, 2026 Meeting

The Academics/CSIP Committee of Saint Joseph School District met on October 15, 2026, to discuss an academic department action step exploring tiered graduation diplomas that recognize market value assets and multiple postsecondary pathways. Members compared the district’s current distinctions—such as GPA, class rank, AP and dual-credit coursework—with examples from Liberty and Kearney. Discussion focused on recognizing college, workforce, military, and other pathways; reducing reliance on peer ranking; and ensuring distinctions do not disadvantage students because of course access, cost, family responsibilities, or scheduling constraints.

The discussion was exploratory: participants generally supported developing a more inclusive approach, but no formal decision or vote was recorded. Members raised implementation and transition questions, including how current students would be affected, and suggested incorporating student perspectives. The committee was asked to help communicate the work to the broader community. No procurement, contract, budget, or spending activity was identified.
