# BOE Library Committee Meeting - October 14, 2026

The Newburgh Enlarged City School District Library Committee met on October 14, 2026. The director reported on plans to revisit the library’s five-phase renovation project with CSArch: pre-COVID estimates for the initial program were about $4.5 million, and approximately $77,000 remains on the original design contract. The parties need to revise the agreement and schedule as the district reassesses the project alongside strategic planning, updated community input, and accessibility and plaza improvements. The committee also noted that state library-development grant funding has not grown, so alternative funding sources may be needed for construction projects; no construction award or new project budget was approved at this meeting.

The committee reviewed the RCLS budget, which must go to the full board for approval; members indicated it could move forward, but the transcript does not establish final board approval. RCLS is considering hiring an ILS support person. The director also reported that the library receives bicycles from the Department of Transportation at no cost. Proposed library policies were discussed as first readings, with no clear final adoption recorded. No vendor selection or procurement vote was identified.
