# City Commission Workshop - 15 October, 2026

The City of Eustis Commission held a workshop to interview three finalists for the city manager position. The candidates discussed their management experience and approaches to staff and community engagement, economic development, downtown revitalization, and waterfront development. One candidate proposed considering a hotel with ground-floor retail for vacant downtown parcels; another discussed redevelopment and commercial growth. These were candidate ideas, not commission decisions or project approvals.

Candidates also addressed municipal revenue pressures, potential effects of Amendment 3 and Senate Bill 180, impact and mobility fees, and pursuing grants and state or federal appropriations to support infrastructure. One candidate cited more than $100 million in grants and appropriations secured over his career, but no funding was allocated or awarded at this meeting. No votes, contract awards, solicitations, or other procurement actions were identified; the commission’s next step was to discuss the interviews at its regular meeting.
