# Working Session 3-9-2026

The OJRSD working session on March 9, 2026, reviewed a district-office restructuring plan and proposed staffing changes. The restructuring would reassign existing administrators, create director-level curriculum and special-education roles, and add a second assistant superintendent without increasing administrative headcount; administrators estimated three salary adjustments, with the board requesting salary and offset information before considering approval on March 23. Proposed school staffing changes were estimated at a net increase of 2.93 FTEs and about $276,000. The board also reviewed a preliminary 2026–27 general-fund budget of approximately $141.6 million, up 2.96%, with a proposed 3% tax increase (below the 3.5% Act 1 index); budget development remains ongoing.

The main procurement item was replacement of three high-school-area turf fields and the track. Keystone Sports Construction submitted the lowest of five proposals, at approximately $2.067 million—about $100,000 below the other proposals—and the committee moved the proposal to the full board for approval; this was not a final contract award. The district noted that the five-year capital projection totals roughly $195 million and includes long-term facility work and other capital projects. The preliminary capital figure for turf replacement was about $2.6 million and will be updated to account for soft costs. The meeting also reviewed transportation cost increases, including about $510,000 associated largely with fuel and the first year of a new bus contract. Policy items concerning attendance, weapons-incident notifications, and student participation were advanced for further board consideration.
