# Historic Preservation Commission - 10/15/26

The Glendale Historic Preservation Commission’s regular meeting was held October 15, 2026. The Commission unanimously (5–0) recommended that the City Council list 3127 San Gabriel Avenue, as the Dr. Dean and Lillian O’Neill House, in the Glendale Register of Historic Resources and authorize a Mills Act contract with the owners. The designation recognizes the home’s Cape Cod subtype of American Colonial Revival architecture. Commissioners discussed contract work-plan conditions, including repair and restoration of original windows and doors, siding and trim, walkways and stairs, lighting, and removal of the second-story shutters; they also agreed to remove landscaping and irrigation items from the Mills Act work plan. No procurement activity, vendor selection, or purchasing decision was identified.

Staff also reported updates to the East-West Glendale Historic Context Statement survey, including additional properties assessed as eligible resources and research clarifying other properties’ status. The Commission approved the prior meeting’s minutes. The planned introduction of the Community Development Director was postponed to a future meeting.
