# Emergency Services Committee - October 15, 2026

The Hardin County Emergency Services Committee met on October 15, 2026. A Kentucky Fire Commission representative sought support for continuing a roughly four-year effort to establish a regional fire-training campus in Glendale, potentially using about 25 acres and space at the ECTC facility. The land transfer would have no purchase cost to the county, though a $50 recording fee was mentioned; approximately $4.5 million in development work would still be needed, with funding and construction expected to be phased and potentially supported by future state legislative funding. The proposed campus would replace the Commission’s flood-damaged ECTC facility, where equipment losses were described as exceeding six figures. Members expressed support, but no formal vote was taken; legal paperwork and a resolution are expected to proceed to Fiscal Court. The project would be separate from a proposed county fire station in the area.

The committee also discussed the annual Rave notification-system renewal, which is in the department’s budget and will be brought before Fiscal Court; the system has more than 5,000 users. PulsePoint was reported live as a free public-safety app. Members were told that a resolution and budget amendment are expected to shift administration of two Kentucky Infrastructure Authority water-district grants from Fiscal Court to the districts. A jail air-conditioning repair was estimated at $9,500, with insurance expected to cover costs above a $500 deductible. No procurement award or spending motion was approved during the meeting.
