# Fire & EMS Commission 10/15/2026

The Millcreek Township Fire and EMS Commission met on October 15, 2026. The commission approved a recommendation to the township supervisors to include $100,000 in the 2027 budget for roof replacement at Westlake Station 48; the roof reportedly leaks and is more than 50 years old. It also approved recommending that state volunteer relief funds—$274,515.21 this year—be allocated to volunteer departments participating in the township’s joint agreement. Members discussed concerns that this approach could exclude Bell Valley while agreement negotiations are ongoing. A separate recommendation to the supervisors to terminate Bell Valley’s outdated 1999 agreement also passed; the supervisors retain authority over any final action, and the discussion noted that ending the agreement without a replacement could affect Bell Valley’s fire-protection role.

The chief reported that a feasibility study estimated a new Bell Valley fire station could cost $14–19 million. Other operational updates included ongoing work to repair an obsolete vehicle-control computer, the addition of an in-house emergency vehicle technician, and plans to procure and install Knox key-security systems in more apparatus. The commission also discussed a training-facility agreement and a committee to develop a townshipwide volunteer stipend proposal. No vendor contract awards were identified.
