# Army Demonstrates Amazon Leo SATCOM at Aberdeen

The U.S. Army DEVCOM C5ISR Center hosted an Amazon Leo low Earth orbit satellite connectivity demonstration at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. The Leo Pro antenna delivered reported download speeds exceeding 400 Mbps in a field-relevant setting. A subsequent testing phase is expected to assess mobile use, faster data links, and compatibility with tactical networks. The signals report no solicitation, contract award, funding amount, or procurement timeline, so this is a technology evaluation rather than an active bid opportunity.

- The demonstration provides evidence of Army interest in high-speed satellite communications for field use; follow-on evaluation results could inform future SATCOM and tactical-network integration needs.
- Contractors working in satellite communications, network integration, and resilient connectivity can use the stated test areas—mobility, link speed, and tactical-network compatibility—to assess relevant capabilities.
- There is no current contract action identified. Businesses should distinguish this demonstration from a solicitation and use the expected next-phase testing as the grounded indicator of possible future procurement requirements.
