# ARA Expands Federal Intelligence Business

Applied Research Associates (ARA) appointed Kevin Pudliner as vice president of Intelligence Community solutions to grow its IC business and pursue work with other federal agencies. Pudliner brings experience in national security R&D, software and systems engineering, AI/ML, cloud, and cybersecurity. The appointment builds on ARA’s **$111.5 million** Naval Research Laboratory IDIQ award in May 2026 for Center for High Performance Computing support and its awardable status on a DARPA marketplace, strengthening the company’s positioning for federal technology opportunities.

- ARA’s NRL IDIQ award demonstrates an existing federal contracting footprint in high-performance computing; procurement teams evaluating relevant requirements may find ARA’s capabilities and contract experience pertinent.
- ARA’s DARPA marketplace status gives the company a potential route to pursue marketplace-based opportunities, though the signal identifies no specific solicitation or award.
- Contractors competing for intelligence and national security technology work should note ARA’s stated focus on AI/ML, cloud, cybersecurity, and systems engineering as areas of its federal growth strategy.
