# October 14, 2026 Special Board of Commissioners Meeting Committee Meeting

The October 14, 2026 special meeting of the Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners approved Ordinance 4344 authorizing up to $37 million in 2026 general-obligation bonds: a maximum $29 million Series A for capital projects and an $8 million Series B for a possible refunding of 2019 debt. The CFO clarified that the Township expects to raise about $24 million in new-money proceeds for its capital improvement program through year-end and 2027; the potential refunding of roughly $6.5 million in outstanding 2019 Series B principal is not planned under current market conditions unless rates improve. The ordinance authorizes a competitive private sale and sets issuance parameters. It passed by roll-call vote. The Township also reported that Moody’s and S&P maintained its AAA ratings. No vendor or construction contract awards were identified.

At the Building and Planning Committee meeting, members unanimously recommended releasing $87,600 in escrowed improvement guarantees for 1400 Mill Creek Road. The committee also advanced several land-use and historic-resource matters, including approvals involving a lot-line exchange and second-stage residential plan on Spring Mill Road; sidewalk and curb requirements there were deferred rather than waived. These were planning and development actions, not procurement awards.
