# Human Rights Commission | October 14, 2026

The City of Palm Springs Human Rights Commission met on October 14, 2026. The main procurement-related discussion concerned a proposal to line Arenas Road with Pride flags for the 40th anniversary of Pride. Staff had obtained a total price of $2,250 for the flags and poles. The commission unanimously approved a motion asking staff to contact the City Council about whether councilmembers would use discretionary funds for the purchase; the commission did not itself approve an expenditure or contract award.

The commission also discussed revisions to educational inclusiveness guidelines for businesses, which are being compiled for a final review by the City Attorney, and reported progress on disability-access parking enforcement, including 12 citations issued during the initial enforcement effort. Members discussed community outreach and upcoming Pride events. The commission agreed to move its November meeting and community service awards to November 9, subject to venue availability. No other contract awards, bids, or purchasing decisions were identified.
