# Historic Site Preservation Board | October 14th, 2026

The City of Palm Springs Historic Site Preservation Board held a special meeting on October 14, 2026. The board considered two owner-initiated historic designation applications and, by 6–0 votes on each, recommended that the City Council designate the Lloyd and Tootsie Simon residence at 388 East Valonte Vista (case HSPB 177) and the Seaman residence at 755 Camino Norte (HSPB 178) as Class 1 historic resources. For the Simon residence, the board approved clarifications to the character-defining features, including removing “stucco” from the chimney description and identifying previously enclosed exterior door openings as non-contributing elements. Discussion of the Seaman residence highlighted its William F. Cody design, preservation work, and alterations including an enclosed carport, reconstructed pool, and solar panels.

During public comment, a Palm Springs Preservation Foundation representative asked the board to pursue a Class 1 nomination for the Palm Canyon Drive Palm Alley; no action was taken on that request. Another speaker publicized a preservation tour of designated sites. The board also briefly discussed a future agenda item and possible participation in a neighborhood event. No contracts, purchases, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
