# 9/10/2026 Public Property Committee

Waupaca County Public Property Committee meeting, September 10, 2026: The committee received an update on the courthouse renovation. Phase one is in operation, courtroom three has opened, and demolition is underway for phase two; the remaining project contingency was reported at about $489,000 after more than $500,000 was returned to the project owner. Staff also reported that August Winters is scheduled to replace corroded plumbing valves and pipes at the jail loading dock in the coming weeks. No contract award or procurement vote was reported; the committee approved the agenda, and a motion and second were made to approve the prior meeting minutes.

The committee reviewed maintenance budgets and discussed possible capital financing, without taking a recorded approval vote on the projects. The 2027 plan includes a proposed $1 million courthouse cooling-system replacement; replacing it would avoid separate 2026 chiller and cooling-tower expenditures discussed at $80,000 and $85,000. An $800,000 law enforcement center roof project and possible improvements to the emergency operations/training area were also discussed as potential debt-funded work. The Sallyport expansion remains deferred, and staff said the courthouse renovation budget would be amended once final project costs are clearer.
