# Town Plan & Zoning Commission - Regular Meeting (10/13/2026)

The Town Plan & Zoning Commission’s regular meeting on October 13, 2026, approved the October 6 minutes unanimously and unanimously approved two special-exception applications: filling and regrading for a pool at 312 Rolling Hills Drive, and converting part of an existing building at 418 Meadow Street to an auto repair facility. For the Meadow Street approval, commissioners discussed conditions concerning outdoor work, customer visits, and vehicles stored outside; the regulations already restrict vehicles awaiting or having completed repairs. A requested zoning change for 164 Tainter Drive was postponed to October 27.

The principal infrastructure and procurement discussion concerned the Town’s planned rehabilitation of the Fairfield Beach Road sewer pump station, a priority project to improve reliability and flood resilience. The Water Pollution Control Utility said the project is currently financed through reserve funds, does not depend on outside funding, but remains eligible for Connecticut Clean Water funding. Design is expected to be completed by year-end; after state review of the draft bid package, the Town anticipates soliciting bids in spring, evaluating bids, and submitting a recommended contractor award to the state for review. No project cost, contract number, or vendor award was stated. The commission also heard proposals concerning athletic-field lighting regulations and a 140-unit development at 185 Thorp Street; the Thorp Street hearing remains open, with further review and responses expected before the October 27 meeting.
