# U.S. and Zambia Promote Projects

The United States and Zambia signed a nonbinding, five-year Memorandum of Understanding on March 30, 2023, to identify and promote U.S. private-sector participation in strategic commercial projects in Zambia. The framework spans agriculture, energy, mining, manufacturing, healthcare, digital services, tourism, education, and transportation, and describes potential U.S. agency outreach, technical assistance, and financing channels. It does not commit funds, guarantee awards, or establish a procurement; the MOU’s five-year activity period runs through March 2028.
