# Yukon Traffic Commission Meeting - 10/13/2026 - 6:30PM

The Yukon Traffic and Transportation Commission’s October 13, 2026 meeting approved the September minutes and the 2027 meeting calendar. On Yukon Avenue, members reviewed an in-house traffic count related to requests for speed bumps and pedestrian improvements, then voted to table the matter until the city hears back on an ACOG grant application for a sidewalk. The grant is for the sidewalk; crosswalks and other measures may be considered separately. No award, funding amount, or matching contribution was confirmed. The commission also discussed the Safe Streets grant and Yukon corridor safety enhancement project, with no new update. Staff reported that a Sarah Road sidewalk for children is being built in-house.

The commission voted to move forward with a request for permanent barriers in the alley between First Baptist Church buildings, subject to completing a detailed form and review of easements and utilities; one member abstained. It also approved considering one or two speed bumps on South First Street from Vandermet to Asbill, based on city staff recommendations. Speeding and possible stop signs or speed bumps in Kings Ridge/Kings Way were discussed, but no action was taken because the item was discussion only; staff will work with the resident to assess options for a future agenda. No contract awards or specific procurement amounts were identified.
