# Kitchener Connects Firms to Government Procurement

On October 13, 2026, the City of Kitchener held two Buy Canada–Buy Ontario procurement information events at Kitchener City Hall, hosted by Mayor Berry Vrbanovic and Senator Sandra Pupatello. The sessions connected local construction firms and businesses in other sectors with federal and provincial procurement experts, who provided guidance on finding opportunities, registering as suppliers, and preparing submissions. CanadaBuys and Supply Ontario were identified as resources for pursuing future government work; the events did not announce a specific contract award or solicitation.

- Local businesses can use CanadaBuys and Supply Ontario to find relevant government opportunities and access supplier registration information.
- Contractors seeking public-sector work can apply the event’s guidance to prepare supplier registrations and stronger submissions.
- The sessions indicate a focus on helping regional firms access federal and Ontario procurement markets, including construction opportunities.
