# Clay County MN Board of Commissioners 10/13/26

Clay County Board of Commissioners meeting, October 13, 2026. The board approved payment of bills and vouchers and approved a $40,000 grant application to the Better Food Policy Fund, through Clay County Public Health and the Partnership for Health, to support West Central Minnesota Food Council regional food-system initiatives. The board also approved an MOU supporting Wilkin County’s pursuit of inclusion in the West Central Regional Water District. The MOU sets a proposed minimum Wilkin County payment of $150,000 toward inclusion work and the founding counties’ startup costs; it does not itself admit Wilkin County to the district. The administrator cited approximately $500,000 in prior investment by the founding counties. The board approved a one-year lease with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Driver and Vehicle Services, for space at the county DMV to conduct truck testing and inspections; a stated annual revenue figure of $480 was mentioned. The board also approved Resolution 2026-22 for Operation Greenlight. No contract award or procurement decision was reported for the courthouse security grant application, which remained in progress.

Other infrastructure and funding discussions included the completed 11th Street underpass, for which the county’s match contribution was reported as $1.5 million, and a proposed White Earth Nation development and trust-land application. Commissioners raised questions about potential effects on water resources, taxes, roads, utilities, and public services; no county support letter or other action on that proposal was taken. The board received a cybersecurity update, including September vulnerability remediation and staffing needs, but took no related spending action.
