# BCSS BOE Meeting 10/12/26

The regular Bulloch County Schools Board of Education meeting was held October 12, 2026. The board approved the consent agenda, which included permission to apply for a $65,000 equipment-assistance grant to replace a 20-year-old combi oven; a draft SRO agreement with the sheriff’s department; a three-year athletic-training contract with Wellstar Sylvan Grove; Chromebook purchases; and direct deposit of GoFan revenues. Under the SRO arrangement, BCSS covers salaries for four of six school resource officers, with its estimated annual cost of about $275,000 supported by school-safety grant funds rather than the general fund. The trainer contract provides a $14,000 annual guarantee plus $20 per hour, capped at $42,000 per academic year. The superintendent also reported that 100 interactive boards had been purchased using Title I funds; no Chromebook purchase amount was stated.

The board approved the September 8 minutes, personnel report, and financial report. The district reported general-fund operating cash of $14,364,263 as of September 30 and forecast October expenditures of $3.8 million. The meeting also included school and staff recognitions, including teacher-of-the-year awards, and informational reports on operations, curriculum, and student services; no other specific procurement awards or bid approvals were identified.
