# South Western City Schools Board of Education Meeting - October 12, 2026

At its October 12, 2026 Board of Education meeting, South Western City Schools approved the revised permanent appropriations, September investment and cash-position reports, payment of September bills, and $35,526 in donations. The board also approved the 2026–27 agreement with the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, which leases district space for student programming; the agreement was presented after a delay in receiving the statement of work, and no contract value was stated. Other approved items included personnel actions affecting 527 employees and the reappointment of a trustee to the Southwest Public Libraries Board. No vendor contract award or competitive procurement was discussed.

During public comment, a speaker urged voters to support Issue 6, a no-new-millage bond issue on the November 3 ballot. The speaker said the issue would enable nearly $113 million in state funding to replace Westland and Grove City high schools and fund targeted facility improvements at Franklin Heights and Central Crossing. This was public advocacy, not a board vote or funding approval at the meeting. The board also entered executive session to discuss security arrangements and emergency response protocols.
