# Planning Commission - 10/13/2026

The City of Milwaukie Planning Commission’s regular meeting on October 13, 2026, included a public hearing on minor zoning-code amendments covering garage and carport standards, downtown design review, residential remodels and additions, accessory dwelling unit standards, subdivision plat adjustments, and childcare and adult-care uses. Staff said state legislation requires childcare centers to be permitted in specified commercial and high-density residential zones; the amendments also add adult-care centers as a permitted use. Several proposals related to middle housing, cottage-cluster standards, and accessory-structure conversions were removed from this package for later consideration.

The Commission voted 6–0 to recommend that City Council approve the amendments with staff’s recommended findings; Council will make the final decision after a public hearing. Commissioners supported provisions intended to streamline code-compliant plat adjustments and clarify natural-resource review, while noting that additional residential design and middle-housing issues will be addressed separately. No contracts, purchasing decisions, spending allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
