# Lincoln County Commission October 13, 2026

The Lincoln County Commission’s regular meeting on October 13, 2026, approved authorizing the emergency manager to execute a subrecipient agreement with the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, Office of Emergency Management. The county’s direct cost was stated as zero; SECOG will manage the work to update the plan, which can enable cities, townships, and private nonprofits to seek disaster-related grant funding. The plan will be submitted for state and FEMA Region 8 review. The authorization passed by vote.

The commission also approved repairing a 2022 Chevy sheriff’s vehicle (about 132,500 miles) with a new motor from East River Wrenching LLC for $7,215, then declaring it surplus and authorizing the auditor to advertise it for online auction. A $2,445 lifter-repair alternative was discussed; the sheriff said the repair would require a budget supplement, and commissioners supported repairing the vehicle before sale. The motion passed by vote. Separately, commissioners discussed ambulance-service volunteer and funding challenges, including a $24,000 request to Turner County and the possibility of an ambulance district as a longer-term funding mechanism; no county spending action was taken on that discussion.
