# School Board Meeting: October 12, 2026

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District Board held its regular meeting on October 12, 2026. The board unanimously approved the FY 2027–28 budget calendar, authorizing staff to proceed with budget development. A financial update reported that the FY 2025–26 ending fund balance is estimated at $19.4 million, up $5.4 million from the earlier estimate and subject to audit; the projected FY 2026–27 ending balance is $9.1 million. Staff cited $1.5 million in transportation savings from reduced routes and improved identification of routes eligible for state reimbursement, as well as a prior five-year transportation contract. The update also outlined anticipated FY 2027–28 pressures, including enrollment-related revenue losses and higher pension costs.

The board discussed, but did not approve, a potential new PERS side account to reduce future pension contribution costs. Staff said a resolution may come to the board on November 2, ahead of a November 13 deadline; a board member expressed interest in independent municipal-advisor review, and staff said they would contact SDAO for further information. No new contract award or purchasing approval was recorded. Other business included student and district reports, Division 22 assurances, and approval of amended complaint policy KL by a 4–1 vote.
