# DHS and FEMA Expand Counter-UAS Funding

The reported U.S. counter-UAS funding includes a $500 million FEMA grant program, with $250 million prioritized for FY 2026, and a separate $115 million DHS investment for security at America250 events and 2026 FIFA World Cup venues. The funding points to potential demand for drone detection, sensor fusion, tracking, and integrated counter-UAS systems. The article identifies no open solicitation, procurement deadline, or contact, and notes that active mitigation authority is limited to specified federal agencies.

- State, local, tribal, and territorial organizations may be recipients of FEMA grant funding for detection and tracking capabilities; contractors can assess whether their offerings support those capabilities.
- The separate DHS investment concerns event security. The article does not identify specific contract awards or solicitations tied to that funding.
- Companies should distinguish detection and tracking opportunities from active mitigation, which is restricted to authorized federal agencies; the article does not establish that grant recipients may conduct active mitigation.
- The article is a sponsored industry feature, so contractors should independently validate its market projections and promotional claims before using them for business planning.
