# Coffee County School Board Meeting

The Coffee County Board of Education’s monthly meeting was called to order on October 12, 2026 (metadata lists October 13). Procurement and facilities actions included approval, 7–2, of a $34,560 Wold proposal to prepare plans for demolishing and replacing the stadium’s visitor-side locker room/concessions building and incorporating that work into the project’s rebidding. A motion to suspend the stadium project failed, 7–2. The board unanimously rejected bids for both 78- and 84-passenger buses after staff identified issues in the bid documentation; the district plans to revise specifications and rebid for Class C buses, with the timing and bidders not yet determined. Staff also reported completion of the high school generator replacement, serving-line replacements, paving repairs, gym-floor work, and removal of about 26 trees at New Union.

The board approved multiple budget amendments, including funding for a state special-education preschool grant, a new tutoring grant, school-level grant funds, carryover and restricted funds, TISA outcome-bonus spending, the after-school program, and an additional CDC classroom budgeted at $165,000 (expected to begin around January, with actual costs likely lower). Most amendments were described as not affecting fund balance; the CDC classroom amendment draws on unassigned fund balance. The August budget update was accepted. The board also approved the TISA accountability report and textbook adoption committee membership. No vendor award was made for the bus bids; the district will rebid them.
