# October 8th 2026 VCS BOE Meeting

The Victor Central Schools Board of Education’s October 2026 meeting (titled October 8; metadata date October 9) included an update from the Energy and Facilities Savings Committee. The committee’s goal is to identify measures that could reduce annual operating energy costs by about $300,000. A Buffalo Solar assessment estimated roughly 4,500 rooftop panels could save about $360,000 annually, but structural considerations, utility interconnection costs (estimated at about $1 million), and limited energy storage present significant obstacles. The committee recommended a district-wide NYSERDA/NICER FlexTech energy assessment to compare solar, building controls, HVAC and lighting upgrades, and other options; the study has not yet occurred and could take 9–12 months. No energy project or study approval was recorded.

The board also heard a preliminary proposal to explore a district community education program, including before- and after-school care and aquatics. Staff said they would develop a financial model covering startup and operating costs, revenue, staffing, and coordination with existing community partners; no program decision was made. The board approved consent items that included booster and community donations for student activities and equipment, including $450 for cheerleading competition music and signs; another donation amount for basketball sideline chairs was garbled in the transcript. No contract award, bid approval, or vendor selection was identified.
