# Board of Selectmen, October 8, 2026

The Greenwich Board of Selectmen met on October 8, 2026. The Board unanimously approved a revision to the town’s mooring fees and deadlines; the proposal was scheduled for a public hearing on October 19 and consideration by the RTM on October 26. No fee amounts were stated. The First Selectman reported that the School Building Committee had interviewed owner’s representative candidates and voted the previous day to select a new representative; no firm or contract amount was identified. The Board also approved a temporary closure of Greenwich Avenue on November 11 for the Veterans Day walk and ceremony.

The Board received recommendations from the Board of Ethics, including exploring a more interactive ethics-reporting system. A possible software investment was estimated at $50,000–$100,000, but no purchase or funding decision was made; members discussed whether existing town software or a student project could meet the need. The Ethics Board also suggested replacing its annual $10,000–$20,000 investigation authorization with a capped reserve of about $50,000, which was not approved. Separately, the First Selectman noted a planned CTDOT project to upgrade lighting and guardrails on I-95 from Byram to Old Greenwich, with design expected to finish in December 2027 and construction anticipated to begin in summer 2028.
