# Zoning Board of Appeals 9/29/26 - Session 1 Part 3 Recording

The Peoria County Zoning Board of Appeals continued its September 29, 2026 session with cross-examination of a witness about wind turbine noise, infrasound, reported health effects, and setback standards. The discussion compared older studies and the witness’s 2014 literature review with more recent research; the witness said later evidence supports noise levels up to 50 dBA and that current turbine technology differs from earlier models. Questions also addressed sound-based versus distance-based setbacks, Illinois standards, and limits intended to protect nonparticipating residences. The board ruled that findings from a Wisconsin health-board proceeding were not relevant to this case and limited further questioning on that subject.

No contracts, purchasing decisions, budget allocations, procurement actions, or votes were identified. The session went into a one-hour recess.
