# Planning Commission Meeting (10/8/2026) | LEE'S SUMMIT, MO

The City of Lee’s Summit Planning Commission met on October 8, 2026. No procurement contracts, vendor selections, or spending awards were identified. The Commission unanimously recommended approval of the preliminary development plan for Pathways at Kensington Farms Phases 2 and 3, proposing 264 single-family lots; together with the previously approved Phase 1, the development would total 499 lots. The plan includes road and shared-use-path improvements, with the Prairie Lane realignment and intersection design still under study. Residents raised concerns about traffic, possible impacts to private property and septic systems, and the proposed road alignment. Staff and the applicant said final infrastructure plans and any needed right-of-way acquisition must be resolved before construction proceeds. The Commission also unanimously recommended vacation of a street stub to accommodate two homes; both items were scheduled for City Council consideration on November 3. The Commission approved the DG Plaza preliminary development plan for an 8,785-square-foot office building with 64 parking stalls; a separate application would be needed for the proposed future 6,000-square-foot building.

The Commission unanimously recommended UDO amendments concerning accessory dwelling units (ADUs). The proposed changes would allow ADUs in all residential districts or on properties with an approved preliminary development plan, remove the minimum lot-size requirement and the 500-square-foot cap for smaller downtown lots, and set a maximum size of 1,000 square feet or 50% of the principal structure’s area, whichever is less. The amendments would retain the 60% maximum impervious coverage limit and require one off-street parking space for an ADU, subject to a possible modification through the PDP process. These regulatory changes were recommended to City Council; no direct procurement activity was identified.
