# City of Dunedin Regular Commission Meeting October 8, 2026

The City of Dunedin regular Commission meeting was held October 8, 2026. The Commission unanimously approved a consent agenda that included an $87,000 condition assessment of Fire Stations 60, 61, and 62 under a GEC task assignment. It also unanimously approved an amendment to the City–Pinellas County emergency medical services agreement for FY2027: the County payment to the City will be $3,241,474 if Amendment 3 is ratified, or $4,041,474 if it is not. Commissioners discussed how the amendment could affect EMS staffing, response times, and service levels; the payment amount is conditional on the November vote and does not set funding beyond FY2027.

The Commission considered an award under RFP 2626-04 for recyclable-material collection, processing, and marketing services. Staff recommended Waste Pro, Inc. of Clearwater, whose proposal was cited at approximately $1.17 million, for a five-year term beginning March 31, 2027, with two optional two-year renewals. Commissioners raised questions about the competing proposal, cost comparisons, recycling’s financial impact, and disposal and tipping costs. The initial award motion was reconsidered, and the Commission voted to bring the item back on October 22 with enhanced financial and comparative information; therefore, no contract award was made at this meeting. The current contract extension runs through March 31, 2027.
