# Zoning Board of Appeals - 10/8/2026

The Peoria Zoning Board of Appeals met on October 8, 2026. It approved the September 10 meeting minutes, then heard ZBA Case 3612000 and 26, a request by Sarah Urbanick and Michael Hernandez for a major variance to retain a wider-than-permitted driveway at 2027 West Wilder Street. The applicants said the wider paving would make access to a new garage stall easier and acknowledged they had no hardship; city staff and the Development Review Board recommended denial. Public Works preferred a single, continuous approach up to 30 feet wide, while the existing approach was estimated at about 22 feet.

In its findings, the board did not find the required variance criteria satisfied. A motion to approve the variance failed on a 4–0 roll-call vote. The board encouraged the applicants to work with Public Works and their contractor on a compliant remedy. No procurement, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified.
