# It Takes a Village: Transportation Community Forum (October 7, 2026)

The City of Mountain House held a transportation community forum on October 7, 2026, to discuss transportation funding, road and pedestrian projects, transit options, and traffic safety. Staff reported more than $10 million secured from a mix of local, developer, regional, state, and federal sources, including approximately $1.3 million for EV charging and $440,000 for bicycle and pedestrian improvements. The city is also pursuing a $22 million federal grant for the regional One Voice project; funding is not guaranteed. Planned work includes pavement rehabilitation, rail-crossing changes, sidewalk and ADA improvements at about 200 locations beginning in spring 2027, bike-lane and traffic-calming projects, and additional traffic signals. The city described a five-year, cost-neutral contract for its 14-camera red-light enforcement system, but no vendor was named.

Transit options under study include a subsidized Uber voucher program, microtransit, connections to BART and regional transit, and links to Tracy’s transit network. Uber has provided a $50,000 innovation credit, and staff cited Escalon’s subsidized-ride program as a potential model. The transit feasibility study was expected to be considered for adoption on October 28, 2026. No contract awards, procurement approvals, motions, or votes occurred at the forum; the discussion focused on project plans, funding, and community feedback.
