# Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Board of Trustees October 7, 2026

At its October 7, 2026 meeting, the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Board of Trustees approved an agreement with Winter Chevrolet to purchase eight four-wheel-drive SUVs for $576,438.40. The purchase, priced through California’s Multiple Award Schedule, provides four vehicles each to North Tahoe and Truckee High Schools for athletics and other school activities. The district said the vehicles are intended to reduce charter and rental transportation costs; it reported spending more than $560,000 on charter services the prior year. The board also considered donations, including $1,700 from Tempo for additional instructional support for Alder Creek Middle School’s band program and a donation from the Ian Casey Foundation for Truckee High School’s mock trial program; the latter amount was not clear in the transcript.

Other business included a presentation on family engagement, a superintendent’s update on planned student walkouts and an upcoming AI learning event, and approval of a resolution affirming sufficient instructional materials for the 2026–27 school year. The board also reviewed CSEA bargaining proposals as an information item, including a proposed technology and AI contract article; no bargaining agreement or related spending decision was reported. Resolutions recognizing School Administrator Week, National Bullying Prevention Month, and a local teaching assignment were also addressed.
