# Parks & Recreation Bond Oversight Committee August 27, 2026

The City of Englewood Parks & Recreation Bond Oversight Committee met on August 27, 2026, to review project progress, schedules, and finances. At Pirates Cove, demolition began on the competition pool retaining wall and concrete work was expected to start the following week; crews had also removed trees for the new slide tower. The recreation center’s annual maintenance closure was scheduled for August 31–September 8, with construction pre-work beginning the following week. At RTO, water and sewer taps were installed and inspected, and foundation walls had been poured. North Northwest Green Belt plans were nearing completion, with final approval anticipated at City Council on September 21.

For Belleview Park, 90% construction drawings were expected shortly, with final drawings and bid documents targeted for early October. The RFP and contractor selection were planned for October–December, with a contract expected to go to City Council in December and construction targeted for late spring. No contract award or procurement vote was reported. The committee discussed coordinating the Belleview and Pirates Cove work, including construction logistics and drainage, and clarifying public communications about separate projects and funding sources. A Belleview playground phase may use an Arapahoe County Open Space grant, separate from bond funds. July expenses were described as routine, and spending and encumbrances were reported to be progressing as expected, with no dollar amounts provided. The committee also agreed to shift future meeting times to 2:30–3:00; November and December meetings would be replaced by email updates.
