# 10.7.2026 Fall River School Committee

The Fall River School Committee’s regular meeting on October 7, 2026, included budget, grant, and facilities matters. The committee approved the first-quarter budget update for the district’s $225,832,464 budget and the first-quarter revolving-fund update. The superintendent reported that $120,000 in Fair Share funds would support special-education and after-school transportation, including additional buses and vans, and $50,000 would support educational field trips; an additional $2,900 was also reported. The committee approved $30,000 for the Boys & Girls Club space used by the PAS program, while requesting follow-up on the lease documentation and whether procurement requirements had been followed. A disputed Judge Rotenberg Center grant was referred to the special education subcommittee for further review.

The committee unanimously approved Citywide Glass and Lynwood Construction contracts after members noted that the work had been completed before the contracts came to the committee. The CFO said the Citywide Glass work used a cooperative/state contract, acknowledged that the contract should have been presented for approval beforehand, and the administration committed to bringing future contracts forward in a timely manner and planning projects earlier. The CFO also said the district intends to increase use of state contracts where appropriate. No contract amounts were stated. The committee also approved an appointment for the school committee administrative assistant, subject to contract negotiations, and approved updated CTE admissions guidelines by a 6–1 vote.
