# Historic Preservation Board Meeting 10-07-2026 05:01 PM

The City of Delray Beach Historic Preservation Board met on October 7, 2026. The board unanimously recommended extending through 2031 a parking exemption for qualifying existing commercial buildings with outdoor-use areas in the West Atlantic Subdistrict of the Central Business District, and expanding its eastern boundary from NW 4th Avenue to NW 3rd Avenue to include both Atlantic Grove blocks. The exemption avoids the area’s $6,000 in-lieu parking fee; the amendment is scheduled for further review by the Planning and Zoning Board and City Commission. No contract awards, vendor selections, purchasing approvals, or other procurement activity were identified.

The board unanimously approved a site-plan modification and certificate of appropriateness for Old School Square at 51 N. Swinton Avenue, including new site and facade lighting and replacement of overhead doors with historic-style gates. It continued the application for 223 NW 1st Avenue, with direction to revise the window treatment, retain a primary entry, and make the historic structure more distinguishable from the addition. The board also approved modifications and a flood-elevation variance for 110 Marine Way, subject to review of elevator options with staff. Staff announced required historic-preservation training for board members.
