# Commission Meeting 10/7/2026

Carbon County, Utah Commission meeting, October 7, 2026: Commissioners approved several tourism and service agreements. They approved a 2027 agreement with Visa USA, with the Utah Office of Tourism covering up to $5,000 and the County paying the remainder, for visitor-spending data; a 2027 cooperative marketing grant agreement for $143,300, requiring a one-to-one match; and a new agreement with Toilets To Go of Utah LLC, raising the monthly charge for each of two vault toilets from $256 to $330. Commissioners also approved an addendum to the All In Rodeo LLC contract to add a breakaway event; the County’s existing costs and contract term do not increase, and the stock contractor bears the added event costs.

The Commission received notice that HUD approved a $2.85 million grant for road infrastructure serving the Ridge Road industrial park, and ratified a $200,000 Governor’s Office of Economic Development Rural County Grant award for local business and economic development projects, with a 50% business match. Commissioners approved a state OHV recreation grant of approximately $230,000 for motocross-facility improvements, with a $46,000 in-kind match and $10,000 cash match; proposed work includes track materials, drainage, starting gates, and a tractor lease. They also authorized applying for the Bulletproof Best Partnership grant to fund 10 vests: prior unit cost was $1,788, with a 50% match, and staff will seek lower bids. All listed procurement and funding motions passed. The Commission also approved meeting minutes and conducted Board of Equalization business, including decisions on property-value changes and late appeals.
