# Historic District Commission Regular Meeting 10/7/2026

The Eureka Springs Historic District Commission held its regular meeting on October 7, 2026. The commission approved certificates of appropriateness for four private-property projects: a detached deck and removable PVC gazebo at 263 Spring Street (approved with one abstention); a detached carport at 7 Kings Highway; a rear-roof extension at 7 Armstrong; and exterior murals at 3010 East Van Buren. In discussing the murals, commissioners noted that murals are generally not allowed directly on buildings in the historic commercial downtown, but treated this application as an exception because the property is outside that area; additional or changed mural work would require a new application.

The commission also approved the consent agenda and the September 16 meeting minutes. Four administrative approvals by the city historic preservation officer were noted as available on the city website. No contracts, purchasing decisions, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
