# Board of Education Meeting

At its October 7, 2026 meeting, the Watertown City School District Board of Education approved an energy performance contract resolution and a revenue anticipation note resolution. Board members said a recent legislative change allows energy-savings calculations for the project to extend from 18 to 25 years, potentially expanding its scope; no contract amount or vendor was identified. The board also delegated authority to the board president and chief fiscal officer to authorize and sell revenue anticipation notes, including renewals, through October 6, 2036. Both resolutions passed, with no opposition reported.

Administrators reported that FEMA funding for the district’s $110 million capital project had been obligated. Following an emergency authorization at the prior meeting, the superintendent said she would sign contracts with King and King Architects and CRA to address asbestos abatement at Watertown High School; no further board action was required at this meeting. A separate replacement need exceeding the capital-outlay allocation was also discussed as requiring a May ballot vote. The board approved several donations and student trips; no other major purchasing or contract awards were identified.
