# Planning Commission 10/7/2026

The City of Easton Planning Commission met on October 7, 2026. Its sole agenda item was a request by Mark Ricker for a special exception to build a 576-square-foot detached garage classified as a large accessory structure at 309 West Wayne Avenue. Staff recommended approval, finding the proposal generally consistent with zoning criteria and the comprehensive plan; the garage would be placed on an existing parking area, with impervious surface increasing from 29.6% to 31.8%. The commission unanimously voted to recommend that the Zoning Hearing Board grant the special exception, subject to the conditions in the staff recommendation, including applicable comments and requirements from city departments and the board.

The commission also approved the agenda and prior meeting minutes, then approved an amendment to the minutes describing concerns about zoning variances being considered before Planning Commission review of land-use applications. Staff agreed to halt recommendations for advance variance submissions so the commission can review land-use applications and comment on related variances before the Zoning Hearing Board considers them. No procurement activity, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified.
