# Scranton City Council 10-6-26

Scranton City Council meeting, October 6, 2026: Council received the city’s 2025 financial single audit, completed by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, and correspondence regarding a licensing, inspections, and permits budget transfer. In preparation for budget season, a council member requested a comprehensive inventory of city contracts identifying vendors, expiration dates, and automatic-renewal terms. Council also sought an administration discussion of the capital budget and an update on the Meadowbrook project. A resolution was introduced authorizing submission of a grant application for up to $174,447 to the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House, toward purchasing and installing a 100-kilowatt emergency generator; the application was introduced for committee consideration, not approved as a grant award.

Council unanimously rejected a proposed no-parking zone on Putnam Street after residents raised concerns and offered alternatives; members said they would pursue further discussions with residents, the football league, and city staff. Other actions included introducing a one-way designation for Euclid Avenue and requesting an update on the city’s pending data-center zoning amendments. No contract award or vendor selection was made.
