# October 6, 2026 City Council Meeting

The October 6, 2026 Wichita Falls City Council meeting included several procurement approvals. The council approved the consent agenda, authorizing cooperative purchases of two water-station pumps from Smith Pump Company ($164,000 and $163,000), a Jasper Water Treatment Plant clarifier coating from Chamberlain Dallas (up to $350,000), 12 police vehicles from Sam’s Bastrop Ford ($596,674.80) and police equipment from Dana Safety Supply ($222,830.48). Other approved equipment purchases included a Vermeer hydro-excavation trailer ($107,165.83), John Deere loaders and backhoes from Yellow House Machinery ($236,550, $118,275, and $335,000), and a Kenworth truck from Texas Kenworth/MHC ($380,292.40). The agenda also authorized a $156,100 professional-services agreement with Biggs & Matthews Environmental for a landfill gas collection and control system. Separately, the council approved an $118,910 roadway pavement-condition survey contract with International Cybernetics Company, doing business as IMS, and a sole-source purchase from Innomotics of six replacement variable-frequency drives for the Cypress Reverse Osmosis Plant, at approximately $1.962 million. Staff said the VFDs were budgeted and replacement was needed to maintain treatment of 20–25% of the city’s water supply.

The council also approved rezoning approximately 11 acres for a proposed RV park, established an Emerging Technologies Advisory Commission, and heard a Skybox Data Centers project update; these items did not result in a data-center contract or incentive approval. Skybox said it had not requested and would not seek local incentives, described possible phased development and infrastructure work, and outlined projected construction employment, long-term staffing, tax value, and water use. After executive session, the council authorized due diligence on a possible conveyance of about 28.69 acres for East Lawn Memorial Park cemetery purposes; the resolution expressly did not accept the property. No other procurement awards were identified.
