# Architectural Review Commission - 10/05/26

The City of Tampa Architectural Review Commission met on October 5, 2026, to review historic-property design applications. At 1807 West Jatan/Weston Avenue (case ARC-26-0000346), the commission unanimously approved a variance reducing the side setback from 7 feet to 5 feet, then approved a certificate of appropriateness for extending the existing porte-cochère. The approval required more detailed construction drawings, a clear distinction between new and historic construction, coordination with staff on impervious-surface calculations, and reuse of existing materials where feasible. The commission also unanimously approved a certificate of appropriateness for a preschool addition at the landmark property at 522 North Howard Avenue (ARC-26-0000442), with rooftop mechanical units to be professionally primed and painted to match the building and reduce their visibility. A separate case at 1350 South Howard Avenue was continued to December 7, 2026.

The meeting addressed design review and historic-preservation conditions, not public purchasing: no procurement activity, contract awards, vendor selections, or spending decisions were identified.
