# New Mexico Prepares SBIR Firms for Phase III

New Mexico’s FAST pilot completed a five-week commercialization and procurement-readiness program for five deep-tech companies with a combined $5.4 million in recent federal SBIR/STTR Phase II awards. The program was not a solicitation or contract award; it helped participating firms consider potential Phase III routes, including sole-source contracts, other transaction authority, and broad agency announcements, alongside continued state-supported advising.

- The five participating awardees are Sentiré Medical, Molten Salt Solutions, Palladias LLC, Tibbar Plasma Technologies, and EnviTrace LLC; their Phase II awards came from the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy.
- For agencies, the pilot highlights firms with federally funded research that may be positioned to pursue follow-on development and commercialization opportunities. Phase III paths depend on agency needs and applicable authorities; the pilot itself does not guarantee a procurement.
- Companies developing SBIR/STTR technologies can use the cited pathways to assess how their Phase II results may align with agency needs. The program also connects New Mexico firms with ongoing procurement-readiness advising.
