# GSA Addresses Geospatial Data Gaps

A General Services Administration Office of Inspector General audit found recurring gaps in GSA’s compliance with the Geospatial Data Act of 2018: inaccurate property coordinates, an outdated geospatial data inventory, and no required process to check whether existing data can meet needs before purchasing new data. GSA’s CIO agreed with five recommendations. The audit identifies no solicitation, contract value, or procurement contact, but the findings point to potential needs in geospatial data management, data quality, governance, and workforce capacity.

- Contractors with geospatial data, data-quality, or governance capabilities may find relevant future support needs as GSA addresses the audit recommendations; the signal does not confirm a procurement or award.
- GSA procurement and program teams can use the findings to assess how current data inventories, property-coordinate accuracy, and checks for existing data are addressed in their requirements and purchasing processes.
